Just your standard Challah Bread or how we like to call them, tortugas (turtles). This is such an easy recipe and instead of braiding, we used a mold which made it even easier. Hope you like and enjoy!
Ingredients
-
2 1/3 cup of Gluten Free Flour
-
1/3 cup sugar (you can substitute coconut sugar)
-
3/4 cup heated oat milk
-
1/2 tablespoon psyllium husk
-
2 eggs, room temp
-
2 tsp of instant yeast
-
1/2 tsp of salt
-
1/2 cup room temperature vegan butter
-
1 whisked egg for egg wash
-
Tools: We used a stand mixer and a challah mold, bought it on amazon
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In the stand mixer add flour sugar, psyllium, yeast and salt together. We did this low to medium speed.
Then add your eggs one at a time. Blend well.
Then slowly add your milk, again make sure its warm, keep mixing.
Add your butter.
Once it’s all blended and smooth you’re going to add it to your mold. Make sure you grease your mold. Do not fill all the way because it will rise. Halfway is fine.
Cover your dough filled mold with plastic wrap and let it rise. We just placed above our oven cause it’s a nice warm spot. Not on the oven, above it. We let it sit for an hour and sure enough it will rise.
Pop in the oven for about 20 minutes. Take out and also take out of mold and flip over.
Brush your egg wash on top and then put back in oven for about 10 minutes.
That’s it, you’re done! Enjoy!
