You're hungry, you want something tasty. All you have in the fridge is a bag of broccoli. I got you! We all have made burnt broccoli before. Throw some broccoli in the oven, let it burn. I'm going to give you a quick trick here to make it crispier and yummier. Take it or leave it!

Ingredients
1 bag of broccoli or head (chopped into florets)
1 -2 tablespoons of olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
If you are adventurous add my mom's Cuban mojo sauce on top for a little kick. (All that is, is minced garlic, sauted in olive oil with a little lemon juice. If you need measurements: 1 tsp of garlic, 1 -2 table of olive oil, 2 tsp of lemon juice...yum!)
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Here's the trick. Here's what's gonna make your broccoli better than your neighbors broccoli. You're gonna blanch the broccoli. Here's how:
Have a bowl of cold water ready.
Boil a separate pot of water.
Throw the broccoli from the bag in the boiling water. 30 seconds, that's all, take it out.
Put it in the cold water (a bath if you will). Let it cool off as most of us do while bathing.
Scoop the broccoli out of the cold water bath and place on a sheet tray (cookie tray, whatever you like to call your trays).
Season it with salt and pepper and your olive oil. I like to do this in a bowl so I know it's fully coated. I know, extra dishes...but it makes a difference. Sorry.
Put in oven. Bake for 30 minutes or until crispy.
After, if you want to indulge and try the mojo, pour it over the broccoli and let your taste buds dance. Preferable salsa as that's what we dance in my household.
Enjoy!! - Traci

Hi Norma,
Yes! I do it all the time. It does taste the best when you first cook it but I’ll make it for the week and reheat and still super happy about it :)
