SZECHUAN CHICKEN W/ GARLIC BROCCOLI

sesame oil which listen, if you can eat it, all for it. It adds great flavor but I'm allergic. So I wanted Chinese food and this is what I came up with. I hope you like!

Ingredients

1/2 cup tamari
-
2 tablespoons of rice vinegar

2 tablespoons of olive oil

2 tablespoons of chili garlic sauce

1/4 cup of corn starch
-
sprinkle of szechuan pepper
-
1lb of chicken cubed
-
1 tablespoon of olive oil
-
1 tablespoon of ginger
-
1 tablespoon of garlic
-
1 - 2 bell pepper, diced
-
1 -2 red chilis sliced
-
2/3 cup chicken broth
-
1 tablespoon of olive oil -Boiling water
-
A sprinkle of salt -Broccoli (about one head cut into florets)

Tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon is about 3 cloves (I like garlic so I add about 1-1 1/2 tablespoons)

1/2 tablespoon of Tamari or if you have oyster sauce that works too.

Directions

Whisk together ingredients in a bowl
CHICKEN
Put the cubes of chicken in the marinade and let it sit for 30 minutes
Once marinated, heat Olive Oil over medium heat in a saucepan
Add ginger, garlic, peppers, red chilis, sauté 1 -2 minutes
Add marinated chicken and chicken broth
Cover for 5 minutes and then stir. Do this one or more times until chicken is cooked through
Eat over rice, alone, with broccoli (recipe below)
Garnish with scallions
GARLIC BROCCOLI
Boil your water
Sprinkle salt in the boiling water.
Add the Broccoli. Only cook for a minute. You are basically blanching the broccoli so any longer, you’ll loose that pretty fresh green color. Trust me, only a minute works.
In a separate pan, heat up your oil and add your minced garlic. 1 -2 minutes, not even. Garlic cooks fast and the aroma will be your tell all to add your broccoli.
So yeah, add your broccoli. I just use one of the ladles with the holes and transfer it into the garlic pan.
Add your Tamari and if you want more salt add that too. Done and done :)
